Platinum diamond solitaire ring - can suntan oil/salt water affect the metal/diamond atal!? Hi I know this is probably a really silly question bu Id just like to put my mind at rest! Ive have just got engaged and have a beautiful diamond solitaire on platinum band ring and am going on holiday (beach type holiday) and am worried that using suntan oil and lotion/ swimming in salt water etc might make the ring go funny! (lose its shine etc!) I know Platinum is one of the strongest metals and theres no way I want to keep taking it on and off (more likely to lose it!) so really just want confirmation that they kind of metal cannot be harmed!
