Eternity Platinum Rings Knowledge Base

What distinguished brands for platinum eternity rings? Other than Tacori, what brands can I research for quality platinum eternity bands? Peace and many thanks.
I don't care about having a big engagement rock! Is that wierd? I honestly would just perfer to have a nice wedding band and no engagement ring! I love platinum eternity rings with the little diamonds inside. I feel like I only need one ring, like I only need one him. Some people are saying its wierd not to have an engagement ring. What do you think?
Which of these engagement rings should I buy? I'm new to this whole yahoo thing, my girlfriend uses it often. But, I am wondering which of these rings I should get for my girlfriend of 7 years? Her best friend's favorite is the third one, her sister's is the first and I like the last. She has at some point tried on all of these and liked them all. Thank you. http://www.tacori.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=SRCH&Store_Code=TACORI&Category_Code=ENGAGEMENT&Search=A&Offset=40&filter_cat=4&ARTPRODCODE=2578RD9&ARTPRODDESC=This+platinum+and+diamond+ring+from+the+Contemporary+Crescent+Silhouette+Collection+has+a+round+center+stone.++The+criss-cross+eternity+band+is+filled+with+round+channel-set+diamonds%2C+accented+with+round+pave-set+diamonds.++This+setting+also+has+Petite+and+Medium+proportions.&ARTPRODNAME=Engagement+Ring&ARTPRODGOWITH=2578B&ARTPRODGEMS=.85ct+GVS+%28not+including+center+stone%29&ARTPRODMAT=Available+in+Platinum+and+18K+gold&ARTPRODMSRPHI=%246%2C150&ARTPRODMSRPLO=%242%2C570&srch_srcha=1&x=2&y=56 http://www.tiffany.com/Engagement/Item.aspx?GroupSKU=GRP10013#f+0/0/0/0/0/0 http://www.tiffany.com/Engagement/Item.aspx?GroupSKU=GRP10014#f+0/0/2004/0/0/2004 http://www.tiffany.com/Engagement/Item.aspx?GroupSKU=GRP10018#f+1/0/2004/0/0/2004
How long should an eternity ring last? Opinions please!? When our second child was born, 18 months ago, my husband bought me a platinum and diamond eternity ring. It looks a bit like this: http://www.thediamondjeweller.co.uk/catalogue/category-563/code-8704.html In the past couple of months, 2 of the stones stopped reflecting the light in the same way as the others - one appeared to have the reflective face sheared off, and the other looks chipped. (It's hard to tell though, as they're tiny). Now one of the stones has completely fallen out. The sales guarantee says the ring should be inspected every 6 months to keep it valid. I am furious. What do you reckon - an eternity ring should last longer than a year and a half shouldn't it?
OK to wear a platinum ring next to a white gold ring? I Have both a 6 prong round solitaire engagement ring and a 1 ct. 5 stone low profile wedding band. My problem is, the diamonds on the wedding band are etching into the prongs on the engagement ring and I don't want to loose the stone. I have been looking into tiny .5 ct eternity bands to go in between the two and separate them and it works perfectly. I cant really spend the money on another platinum ring and was wondering if it was ok to wear a white gold band in between the two. I'm not worried about color change, but I was told the platinum would wear down the white gold and that they shouldn't be worn next to each other... and insight??
What ring do I buy my girlfriend for our anniverary? I am 16 years old and I am wanting to buy my girlfriend a ring for our anniversary. I have previoulsy bought her one that was white gold and diamonds with pink sapphires. But obviously that was some time ago, and this is a 1 year anniversary and I need it to be something special! I am willing to pay around £200, I know it's not that much but I was wondering, what would you girls/women like to see put on your finger? In other words, what style of ring? Eternity, or one with just a bigger rock on it? And the metal too, Platinum or White Gold? Any suggestions would be great! Thank you. =]
Is it too good to be true? Hi Guys What do you think of this ring it's exactly what I've been looking for at an excellent price but I've never bought off this website before do you think it's for real (metal & diamonds) and safe? http://www.ampalian.com/jewellery/product/SK35Q1103/platinum-diamond-eternity-ring/

My boyfriend and I are both going to wear engagement rings. I need help finding one for him.? We're getting engaged, and we've picked out my engagement ring -- we are being a little untraditional though because he wants to wear an engagement ring as well. So he'll have 2 rings as well when we're married. I think the idea is really romantic. But I need to figure out what kind of rings will look good together on a man. I can't decide on flat, rounded, thin, thick ... any suggestions? FYI, for his engagement ring...I have decided on a celtic pattern for the outside because he is irish and the patterns are interwoven, symbolizing connectedness and eternity. Our wedding bands are going to be plain platinum. Thanks everyone, I decided to get the rings from versani (versani.com) and I'm going to get them engraved.
What is your favourite ring setting? Solitaires, eternity, three stoned rings or even clusters.... Which is your favourite? And which stone and carat do you prefer? And on gold, white gold or platinum?
Describe Your Wedding Ring? Is your ring platinum, gold, silver, titanium, or steel? Did you buy stones? Diamonds or something different? What size are the stones (1/2 carat, 1 carat, etc.)? Did you get a ring without stones like a traditional gold eternity band? Do you have a wedding ring set - Engagement ring with a matching wedding band Did any men get a ring to wear during the engagement period? Or did you just wear a ring after the wedding ceremony? Any custom, handmade, or "one of a kind" jewelry? What's the story behind it?
What metal for husband's wedding band? My husband has never worn a wedding ring and I'm going to surprise him with one for valentines day. There are so many metals out there for men's rings I don't know what to get. The eternity band he has bought me and that I'm going to wear on it's own is white gold. He wants a white coloured band. I've heard of platinum, white gold, tungsten, palladium and titanium. Could someone please explain the differences? I already know about platinum and white gold but not the others. Thanks
Help to find/design a matching wedding band? This is my engagement ring: http://www.flickr.com/photos/28988476@N06/3003820556/ My fiance designed it and had it made by a family friend. The same goldsmith will be making our wedding bands, but I'm having a hard time finding pictures of things I like that will "match" my engagement ring. I LOVE my ring, it is a .6 carat Canadian diamond with pink sapphire side-stones. It is a trellis setting, so the side view is really pretty too, so I kind of want something that highlights that too. Trellis side view: http://www.bluenile.com/diamond-ring-platinum_5922?metal_filter=platinum,white&setting_filter=sidestone,3stone&sort_select=LTHP&show_all_pages=1&set_shape= I really just need lots of suggestions from everyone because I've done so many searches online for things that match I'm kind of "burnt out" of ideas. Really anything that you think would match, plain, with diamonds, eternity, with pink sapphires, classic, antique looking - I'm open to any suggestions because I just need ideas to bring the jeweler to design the band for me. Thanks Everyone! You have to click the side view picture on the bluenile.com link to actually see the side view of the trellis setting (the interwoven metal prongs). It's the second thumbnail view down); it won't let me link directly to that view.
My fiancee thinks the wedding band I like isn't big enough? My family owns a jewelry store, and I work there full time. I handle the inventory and see everything that comes through. My fiancee told me to keep an eye out for a wedding band I liked, since we are getting married next year. We've already discussed that I probably will just wear my wedding band after we're married and save my engagement ring for special occasions (my engagement ring is huge for everyday wear, and I'm going to ruin the sapphire center stone wearing it all the time). So the other day an absolutely beautiful 1920's platinum and diamond eternity band came in. It's really petite (and comfortable on my finger), the diamonds are small, but I just love it, it's perfect. Very pretty, very nice materials (you can't beat platinum and diamonds), and understated just like I like. My fiancee thinks it's too small, and says he'd feel bad getting it for me. I don't know what is going through his head, but in no way have I ever indicated I'd like some monstrosity on my finger for the rest of my life. I think he still thinks because my dad has a jewelry store, that I need big jewels on my finger. How do i gently explain to him once and for all, I'm happy with pretty and simple? He knows me, I have exactly 5 pieces of jewelry I keep at home and wear regularly, a pair of plain hoops, the diamond studs he got me, a small bangle, my engagement ring and another ring with my grandma's diamond. That's it. The rest of my jewelry stays locked in the vault in the jewelry store, I don't ever wear it. I don't get where this "it's too small" stuff is coming from? I mean, he also know this, that I think its so tacky these women with giant engagement rings and giant wedding bands that look so uncomfortable to wear because they're so wide and thick. I screams "I married him for his money". Not exactly the image I'd like to portray.......... My family adores him and he knows it. In fact my dad and fiancee go out hunting and fishing all the time. My dad is proud that his son in law will be a intelligent responsible man. I can't be sure (he'd never admit it), but I suspect he for whatever reason is worried I'll leave him. So I think he likes to get me nice things to "keep me with him". I have never met a person I'd like to be with more than him, we fit together perfectly. And again, it's a suspicion because i can't figure out where it's coming from. When I met him, he wasn't even in college, dead broke with no job living with his mom. I loved him then, as much as I love him now that he has a college education and a good job. It baffles me.
Current Wedding Ring Styles? These questions are for all engaged and newly married people. I'm trying to get an idea of current wedding ring styles. What did you select for jewelry? Did you get platinum, gold, silver, titanium, or steel jewelry Did you buy stones - Diamonds or something different What size are the stones - 1/2 carat, 1 carat, etc. Did buy rings without stones - Like a traditional gold eternity band Does the bride have a wedding ring set - Engagement ring solitaire (one big single stone) and a matching wedding band Did any grooms get a ring to wear during the engagement period? Or did grooms just wear their ring after the wedding ceremony? Any custom, handmade, or "one of a kind" jewelry? What's the story behind it? Thanks for your answers
Need help picking ring to go with diamond wedding band? What do you think would look nice next to this diamond wedding band? http://www.shrevecrumpandlow.com/shoponline/details.aspx?cat_id=169&itemnum=DBHRD02231 (The same exact ring as in this photo except with 7 slightly smaller stones rather than 5 larger ones. Ring is half eternity style with total 1.5ct weight with curved and set in profile and edges. Height is ~2 mm). Instead of wearing a typical solitaire engagement ring, I would like to get another band with stones that would stack nicely and make the stones of this wedding ring “pop.” I tend to like sapphire and pink sapphire and platinum settings but will consider other styles. Please post pics if you can. Thanks!
Engagement Ring/Wedding Set? I'm looking to replace my wedding set, and I really don't know what to get. You ladies out there that are engaged or already married, what kind of ring(s) do you have? And what is your preference? Do you like white gold, yellow gold, or did you just have to have platinum? Do you like the newer or fancier cut stones? Or did you go for the classic round brilliant? Also, for you, when is a diamond too big or too small? What is the perfect carat size/weight? I have a one carat marquise with side stones, that goes with two matching eternity bands. One at the top, and one at the bottom. It's in yellow gold.
Matching wedding band? My engagement ring is a classic 6 prong platinum setting, 1.25 carat diamond...Well I wanted my wedding band to have some diamonds on it (like an eternity band, but I dont want the diamonds all the way around). The problem is nothing sits flush against the ring because of the prong setting, and if I get one customized (a curve in the middle) it will look strange if I decide to wear it alone. One jeweler I went to told me I could always wear the ring backwards in that case, but then I also would HAVE to get diamonds all the way around...HELP please???? Anyone else who went through this or knows anything?
laughed in my face about engagement ring? my boyfriend proposed to me when we went to Block Island for a weekend trip last week. we got there friday night and had a great dinner at the hotels restaurant. (mostly everything on Block Island is ocean/beach themed including the hotel. the next day, (saturday morning) we went to one of the beaches where a festival was taking place and we went looking for sea shells. he called me over and showed me a sand dollar in his hand and when he picked it up there was a single pearl ring with diamond accents on each side. he got down on one knee and proposed in the water. :) so lets fast-forward to yesterday. (friday) my friends and i went to a casino and they have a tiffany and co. there. we went looking for wedding bands and the sales associate asked to see the engagement ring after i told her i am looking for a platinum band with diamonds around it (i guess kind of like an eternity band?) my fiancee and i decided thats the style we would get for me and his would have a couple of diamonds since we dont like the look of plain bands without gems. After she saw my ring she let out this loud obnoxious "HAA!" it actually scared me and my best friend next to me because it was so loud and so unexpected. i said excuse me and she said "do you know thats a pearl?" and i nodded like what the hell? she said that they dont have bands to match the pearl and my best bet is to get a real diamond engagement ring. those were her words, i kid you not. i was appalled. when i saw the ring i was shocked myself...i know anything can be an engagement ring but a pearl looked a little awkward. its still a beautiful pearl. and i know pearls arent ideal for everyday wear them being porous and easily stained by fumes, chemicals, and make-up. but ive had pearl jewelry before and im aware of how to take care of it. most days after the wedding i would wear just the band and if we went anywhere special id wear both. thats another reason why we agreed on a diamond covered band. (yes we can afford it too) so im just confused as to why she was so rude...and is my ring really that odd? i got a couple of comments on the pearl earlier this week from my wedding planner. we hired her the tuesday we got back since we want our wedding in january and time is ticking lol. she just said "well thats odd i didnt know that was your engagement ring" i know its me that matters and its a symbol of love but i still feel a little sad about my pearl :( no i cant get a new wedding planner because hiring her for her full time package was $2500. and we had to put down half when we signed the contract.
Emerald Engagement Ring? My girlfriend knows it's coming. But she doesn't know when or how. I think she expects a diamond ring.I want to surprise her with an emerald engagement ring. Reason? We both have green eyes which is rare and really cool (were both of Mexican descent). Three guidelines. First: I would like a Platinum band. (This way it can grow with us EG: Maybe add diamonds later) Second: A Celtic knot or sometimes called Eternity knot would be cool to have Third: Under $2000-$2500 please. Somewhere in the $1200 to $1800 range would be great. I live in the Los Angeles area if that helps. I look forward to your suggestions and thank you all in advance.
Anyone know where I can find the engagement ring of my dreams? There's a specific look I'm going for and I've been looking up and down on the internet and can't find it!!!! I want white gold or platinum with a round stone, 6 pronges, and a princess cut channel setting with enough diamonds so that it looks like an eternity band. also, i want the setting to be as close to a perfect circle as possible. i found one at james allen and it's almost perfect but the top part of the ring is kinda raised...can't explain it well...the item # is 11106p. also, last but not least, i want a petite or thin setting...not the regular or thick size. help please!!!
wedding ring regret-it's too much? At first I loved my wedding band. It is an eternity band - approx 2.3 tcw high quality diamonds with a platinum band. But now I am a time in my life where I feel the need to simplify my life a bit and just wear a plainer band. Should I sell it as is, take it apart and sell part of it, or do something else with? Any ideas? I am not much a jewelry wearer - no other rings, no necklaces, only earrings. This is not my original wedding ring, rather an upgraded ring so no real sentimental attachments as the first ring has. I plan to wear the orginal ring along with a much simpler, smaller diamond band
