Diamond Solitaire Ring

Platinum Anniversary Rings Knowledge Base

Our 20th wedding anniversary is coming soon. What diamond/platinum ring setting is the most traditional? I'm thinking of a platinum band with either 3 diamonds, center one largerst, or five diamonds of equal size. I'd like to go with the most traditional setting for this 20th anniversary gift. Thanks
What do you think of the designs of these anniversary rings for our renewal of vows? ? I've been searching around for platinum anniversary bands, and I found a few designs that I like. Some of these designs are in white and yellow gold. We have a friend who can design anything for me. 1: http://www.jewelryexchange.com/productdetails.aspx?jewelryID=561 2: http://www.jewelryexchange.com/productdetails.aspx?jewelryID=3215 3: http://www.jewelryexchange.com/productdetails.aspx?jewelryID=1114 4: http://www.jewelryexchange.com/productdetails.aspx?jewelryID=1588 5: http://www.jewelryexchange.com/productdetails.aspx?jewelryID=3213 6: http://www.jewelryexchange.com/productdetails.aspx?jewelryID=3013 7: http://www.jewelryexchange.com/productdetails.aspx?jewelryID=3086 I am rather partial to number 3. the bezel set 3 stone. I would greatly appreciate some feedback on the designs that caught my eye. Thanks.
Would you buy new wedding rings for your 10th wedding anniversary? Opinions and Suggestions Wanted!? I am planning a great 10 wedding anniversary trip without the kids for 5-7 days. (We never got a first honeymoon because of time, money and his family visiting). We lost our wedding rings when we moved from one house to another just over 3 years ago ( jewelry was put into my jewelry box because we were moving boxes and furniture, and the rings came up missing). We would like to design something new for me.. and buy him a plain platinum band that he can wear for occassions when he's not working on aircraft. Any helpful opinions or suggestions would be appreciated.
We already have wedding rings, but we're doing a "reaffirmation of our vows" & I want to give new ones....? We got married Dec/2007 at the courthouse cause we were 5 months prego. Well we're now planning our "ceremony" when we go on our honeymoon cruise this Dec. I have a platinum anniversary band w/diamonds as my ring & my husband has a plain stainless steel one (he bought both)... I originally wanted the anniversary band as my engagement ring and just a plain band as my wedding ring. Is it silly for me to want to buy 2 new rings that we can exchange at our reaffirmation and wear on our right hands or with our other rings...with or without engravings inside..? I wanted to surprise him... If I do get some new bands...what metal should I get? And does anyone have any suggestions on where I could find some nice, inexpensive ones?? Thank you so much for your help!!! =)
Do you like this Anniversary ring? http://i473.photobucket.com/albums/rr100/chardonnayonice1/myring.jpg My husband never got me an engagement nor a wedding band and has promised to get me a ring. He told me to pick it out. Well, what do you guys think? It's 18KGold and Platinum. I am really not a fan of things that look Silver or Platinum for that matter, but this ring style i couldn't resist. What is your opinion?
How long have your parents been married? Which anniversary is coming up for the new year? My parents just had their anniversary on the 10th, this Saturday, and it was their 20th(that's platinum anniversary, right?) and he got her a diamond ring, and the band was made out of platinum. I haven't seen it yet, but it will get delivered tomorrow, and I can't wait to see how my mom will react when I get home from school!! This is my parents' first marriage too. Neither have been married before.
Sizing Platinum wedding bands? So I've found the wedding ring I'm going to buy, http://www.bluenile.ca/product_details.jsp?oid=4959&pid=AB15501608&ring_size=8 Part of the reason I'm choosing it is because I want something that has potential to be a set in the future, and my fiance and I are thinking maybe I'll get the matching engagement ring for an anniversary gift a few years down the road. http://www.bluenile.ca/diamond-engagement-ring-setting-platinum_3480 The problem that I see is that my finger is an 8, and the wedding ring comes in an 8. The engagement ring comes in an 7.5 only. Can these rings be sized after the fact? I've heard that platinum can't be sized at all. What's the case with these two? clarification** Blue nile makes them up to size 7.5, doesn't make sense that the matching wedding band goes as high as 8.5 at least...
What ring do I buy my girlfriend for our anniverary? I am 16 years old and I am wanting to buy my girlfriend a ring for our anniversary. I have previoulsy bought her one that was white gold and diamonds with pink sapphires. But obviously that was some time ago, and this is a 1 year anniversary and I need it to be something special! I am willing to pay around £200, I know it's not that much but I was wondering, what would you girls/women like to see put on your finger? In other words, what style of ring? Eternity, or one with just a bigger rock on it? And the metal too, Platinum or White Gold? Any suggestions would be great! Thank you. =]
What are some suggestions on what to do for my 4th anniversary? My wife and I will be celebrating our four year anniversary on Nov. 5th. Every year fom the first until the seventh I always make her breakfast in bed and kill myself making her dinner (damn it all for mac 'n cheese not being a romantic meal lol). I need suggestions on what else I could do, possible dinner or breakfast suggestions. For her gift this year I got her grandmothers wedding ring from her grandfather, had it cleaned and sized and am giving her that (it's a platinum claddaugh ring with a blue diamond for the crown - she's wanted it since she was a kid, and every time we see her grandfather it's all she talks about). You think that'll work? It doesn't make me seem cheap right, since I didn't but it? Thanks in advance! All suggestions welcome!
Can anyone help me buy an engraved ring? I'm looking for a ring for my gf on our one year anniversary and i was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction to buy an engraved ring. i just want some sort of ring either platinum sterling silver or titanium. and i don't exactly know where to go buy this ring and to have it engraved and i have a week deadline haha. can anybody help me?
What are you engraving on your wedding bands? We just bought our wedding bands this past weekend, the wedding is 3 months away. Not sure if we should engrave them or not. The thing is, my ring was super expensive (my fiance was adamant on me having that specific one) so we wound up getting him a tungsten ring for now to save money and are planning to upgrade him to platinum too on our 1 year anniversary. Should we even bother getting them engraved if we are planning on changing his ring? Also, my engagement ring is not engraved, if that makes any difference. Thanks!
Do you think my wife will like this for our wedding anniversary? For her gift this year I got her grandmothers wedding ring from her grandfather, had it cleaned and sized and am giving her that (it's a platinum claddaugh ring with a blue diamond for the crown - she's wanted it since she was a kid, and every time we see her grandfather it's all she talks about). You think that'll work? It doesn't make me seem cheap right, since I didn't but it? Thanks in advance! All suggestions welcome! If it matters: her grandmother passed away when she was seveteen, and since her mom lost custody of her and her brothers/sister, her grandmother was very close to her
Would this type of ring tarnish or turn your finger green? I seen a ring that I liked for him.Its silver and blue metallic stainless steel.Has a super high gloss and blue platinum finish look. Its very beautiful, but I need it to be worth buying because its for my husband on our 10th anniversary. would the blue scratch off
Is rhodium-plated white gold toxic? Hi, I bought my wife a white gold wedding band w/ tiny diamonds from Kay Jewelers (I'm upset w/ myself because I was being cheap). With our two-year anniversary coming up, I'm thinking I should get her a platinum ring because I'm worried that the rhodium on and the nickel in the white gold ring (which is turning brownish...) are toxic to her. The money's not an issue, because it's my wife's health. Would switching to platinum (which is her engagement ring metal) be any better? Thank you! I appreciate your help for my wifey :-)
Question about jewelry? I'm going to buy a promise ring for my boyfriend for our 1 year anniversary. He likes silver but I'm afraid sterling silver will tarnish too quickly or turn his finger an off color. I found a ring that is platinum plated sterling silver. Does this mean it will never tarnish?
I really need help, so Please Help Me? My mom and dad's 19th anniversary is April 28th. For a long time, my mom has wanted a Princess Cut Diamond Ring, With a Platinum Band in 3 different prongs coming to the center stone. She says she has seen it somewhere before, but she doesn't remember. I really, really want to find this ring for her. My dad can't and he's counting on me. Please help me! There is no price range. Something like this one, but with one more prong: http://www.natalia-diamonds.com/Engagement-Rings/Engagement-Ring_ItemTag_ER-075.aspx I really don't want to get it from KAY, that's like the Wal-Mart of Jewelry Stores.

What ring do you think would look good on my finger? (pic of left hand included).? I'm having a renewal of vows for my 10th wedding anniversary (2011). My husband is suppose to deploy to Bahrain sometime between Nov of 2009 to Mar of 2010. He is going to have a new wedding and engagement ring made while he is in Bahrain. The new ring will be made with platinum and diamonds. About me: I have an active lifestyle. I have two kids ages 6 & 4. And I am pregnant with boy/girl twins. I do medical billing/coding from home. And when I'm not pregnant, I work part-time at Golds Gym as a personal trainer. I don't keep my finger nails long, because I have a very busy life. I don't have time for artificial nails either. I've always had really big hands, and I wear a size 8 1/2 to 9, depending on the style of the ring (and the time of the month.. LOL). Pic of my left hand: http://www.flickr.com/photos/41364221@N04/ Here's my problem: I can't seem to decide what ring design I really like. I do know that I don't like a high setting, because I've scratched my kids with another ring I use to wear. I'm also allergic to the nickle found in silver, white/yellow gold. My only requirement is that the ring design have a low setting. Can anyone help me? Please be tactful.
What would you do? My husband and I have been seperated since his mother came. She was domineering and tried to run the household. She said that since we didn't get her approval for our marriage (she said she was going to commit suicide) she would take that with her to her grave. She said that it had nothing to do with me, but with her son defying her. She said she'd never forgive him. That she'd die with that pain and anger in her heart and he'd have to live with that. Well, when she left she took my wedding sari. To me that signaled her dismay over our marriage - despite her two beautiful grandsons. And, almost seven years of marriage. Then, I found other things missing - my jewellery. She admitted to the sari (silk with gold threads so it's very valuable) but not to the jewellery. The most expensive pair was my princess cut diamond earrings set in platinum. My husband had bought them for our first anniversary to match my wedding ring. Now, he wants to work things out. My sticking point is no more money to his parents. We were sending $300 a month plus $300 a year to his sisters. I also want counseling with our parish priest, but he still refuses. He wants me and the kids back, but doesn't want to stick up for me. I don't feel like he's willing to compromise. He just says I'm over reacting. If your mother in law did that in your home, would you feel any different? Would it be a deal breaker if he let her come in and take your wedding gown, and your jewellery? I'm in the US, but she lives in India. So, there's nothing the police can do. I'm not interested in prosecuting. Although I'd like my stuff back.
Should I wear the ring? For our 10th anniversary my husband spent (too much) on a ring for me with money we really didn't have. It's beautiful, I do love it--2.5 carat ruby set in platinum, but I feel guilty when I wear it because I know I could have paid off my car with what it's worth. I get a lot of comments on it but get uncomfortable when people make the comments of 'that must have cost a pretty penny'. I've decided it's easier to just not wear it and avoid the questions, but then it hurts my husband that I don't wear a ring we both love. HELP!
Engagement ring stone help? First off, I'm a college student but in July me and my girlfriend are celebrating our five year anniversary, and I want to propose on our vacation (she's never been to the ocean, so we're going to this really nice beach in maine). I obviously can't afford a real ring, and don't have the credit for loans. I've looked into it a lot, and wanted to get some opinions on a simulant diamond. It's from Diamond Nexus Labs (http://www.diamondnexuslabs.com/jewelry/product_info.php?cPath=3_135&products_id=51), and they look good to me, but I don't know much about gems. I was thinking of buying a loose princess cut diamond there, and getting her a platinum setting. Would you be able to notice that it wasn't a real diamond? My budget is within 2000 if I plan to propose in July, and I've talked to my girlfriend about it. When I explained to her my financial limit, she said she doesn't really care if it's real, just as long as it is "really sparkly" or something. And from what we've talked about, I don't think a colored stone is an option Thanks to everyone that answered. I've decided the best thing to do is show her everything everyone has said, and let her decide herself what she wants to do.
