Diamond Solitaire Ring

Where can I get a reasonably priced diamond solitaire engagement ring?

Me and my boyfriend have been shopping for a white gold solitaire ring but I wondered if there were any discount sites where I could get more diamond for my money (well, his money) - we've got around 650 pounds to spend but I'm not up on the retailers to be trusted with a purchase this big. Please help!

  1. H Samuel or Elizabeth Duke at Argos would be your best bet for your budget
  2. e bay
  3. Search around on the internet there are a lot of specials going on around this time. If not go to the retailers but do not tell them how much you have and simply shop around. Whichever is easiest for you.
  4. http://www.diamonds.uk.com try here this one in particular is nice http://www.diamonds.uk.com/diamond_engagement_ring_details_item_10644.html
  5. a pawn shop
  6. If you know your stuff about diamonds. Try bidz.com They are auction style and have a whole section of engagement rings. My fiance bought mine fro mthere and spend around $300 (US dollars) and it was appraised at 2,989 ish. Catch it at the right time and you can get some great deaks
  7. I used to work in a jewelry store in my youth, and they all have the same 200 percent markup and they buy from the same sources. Go into each store and politely ask to speak to the manager as he has the authority to discount merchandise and ask for a 33 percent reduction in price. If he does not give it to you, try the next store until you get the discount. This works best during slow sales seasons when the manager is desperate to make his sales quota.
  8. I just got hitched last February and to be honest We got both our wedding rings at walmart mine is 5 round stones across totaling 1 carat and my husband has a very masculine ring with 7 stones across totaling 1/2 carat both together they were 1,200.00 I had them appraised and the clarity and everything is just as good of quality as helzsbgurg diamonds I could of even doubled up my ring to 2 carats and mine still would of been below 2,000.00 below is the link to my ring after the d in the link add this sequence =2638263 for some reason it keeps cutting off the number
  9. sounds crazy, but i watched a news story last year that reviewed diamond retailers for quality/price, and amazon.com came out on top. you can select your stone, setting, etc. it was the highest quality for the price.
  10. Miltons or Beeverbrooks do good deals on diamond rings....or try ebay or amazon
  11. i think shery might still have one she would sell you, unless it's at the bottom of the gulf of mexico.
  12. www.bluenile.com and www.ice.com Great sites that I have purchased expensive items on.
  13. do NOT go to H Samuel whatever you do. Every piece of jewellery I have had from there has been flimsy and poor quality. Definately not worth the money. A good, cheap jewellery store is Symingtons half price jewellers. They have one in most towns and although the prices are low, the quality of the jewellery is excellent.
