Diamond Solitaire Ring

where would you recommend getting some diamond earrings/solitaire ring in the silicon valley [ca] ?

i was thinking about getting either earrings/ring for my girl. i was wondering if anyone has had any good expierences in the san jose surrounding area? i've done my homework as far as diamond lingo goes, so i think i'm set on that. but if you have any info that you might think would be useful, by all means, let me know.

1. be careful about promo quality stuff. some time back early 90s a few stores started selling really really LOW quality diamonds and advertising them "$299.99 for a half carat pair!" They were really poor. Use your eyes! Your earrings (preferably solitares) should sparkle and have some depth. If YOU can see soemthing with the naked eye your girl CAN TOO! Even better! Settle for smaller or lower color if you have to, (set in yellow against her skin, even J-K-L looks pretty white) but eye clean is a must!
