  1. you can make gold jewelry and put diamonds into it...but you can't turn gold into diamonds if that's what you are asking...diamonds are pure carbon...
  2. And- can WE make pure gold out of base metals seems to be your real question!
  3. no thts dum!
  4. If you are asking, " Can Diamonds be set into 24kt (.999) Pure Gold," the answer is "yes". However, is it practical... Many traditional Jewelry pieces from India utilize diamond in 24kt gold, but you have to remember 24kt Pure Gold is Very Maleable (soft) and can bend easily causing stones to possibly fall out.
  5. you can make any jewelry out of pure gold. gold quality has a scale of 1-24 karats. 24k = pure gold and the equation measures how much pure gold is mixed with other metals. for example 14 karat is 14 parts pure gold and 10 parts base metal. pure gold has a beautiful deep color to it, but it is very expensive. also pure gold is harder to work with, many jewelers prefer to work with 14k. gold is a very malleable metal, and in pure form is not recommended for heavy wear because it will scratch up easy. but alot of jewelry is made from pure gold, alot of upscale designer jewelry uses 18-24k gold. its still quite common and worth alot of money. gold right now is at about $900 per ounce, since the metal is so dense an ounce is tiny and fits in the palm of your hand. if you have a specific question about jewelry or gold you can email me and i will be happy to help you. =)
