Is it worth the money to buy diamond jewelry at JC penney or at kohl's?
I know that there's a lot of sale around this time of christmas and after christmas. But does it really worth the money to buy diamond jewelry from those store like JCpenney and kohl's? I mean when it comes to prices and quality should I buy from those store or maybe I should go to place like zales, kay etc...?

- honestly no i wouldnt buy anything there over a carat. heck i wuoldnt buy anything there thats half a carat. i would buy small things with small diamonds. like small studs for 30 bucks or so.
- If you use your due diligence and know a bit about jewelery the best deals are second hand. Right now are some crazy deals. Look for a reputable seller on places like eBay, pawn shops, Craigslist etc....
- uuummm, I don't know if you should. You have to really be careful about the quality of the gold or platinum(if they have it at these stores) because you do not want the ring turning colors. Maybe you should try zales, they might have some sales! lol
- OK, I used to manage a Kay. I scoped the competition quite a lot. Most retailers have a line of 'Premier' diamond jewelry, or something similar, ones of high (or at least market) quality. Similarly, going to a 'jewelry store' doesnt nessecarily mean you'll get better diamonds (unless you're willing to drop some serious cheese). Without going into technical stuff, basically, when you shop for diamond, trust your eyes. Ask to have the diamonds magnified for you. Do comparison shopping. Just cause you see flaws under a 10x scope/loupe or whatever doesnt constitute a bad diamond, but just trust your instincs and look for something that makes you go wow.
- idk bout JCP, but I used to work at Kohl's for a long time, and if you catch the sale just right, its worth it. This is the best time of year to do it. Choose carefully. Some of that stuff goes on clearance and isn't marked, even though its like 90% off. Ask the cashier to check the price. Heck, she does anyways for herself, so just ask her what she's found! I mean, gosh, once we found a diamond ring i believe that had been marked 92% off. anyways, get the Kohl's card, get your coupon (at least 15% off) and use it when you can get Kohl's cash. After you buy it, go have it appraised ( do this no matter where you buy it at) You have so long to return it if its not what you were hoping it would be, and they WILL return it, so no worries. FYI Koh'ls is the best place to buy anything as long as you know what you're looking for and how to shop.
- Sometimes will. jeweler pieces from big department stores could really make you satisfied including the pieces, sales service, and to be a good piece displaying to your friend; But the jewelry pieces at big store always prices very high, would like to choose online stores like Pearl Hours, Kay and more, which provide 70-90% price off compared to local stores
- Here's the truth........the name of the store has nothing to do with the Quality of the diamonds......Pennys...kohls....zales.....all carry the same in jewelry basically .....If you look ....I mean really pay attention to what you look at you have find they all carry some of the same things....The prices are only different....and boy, are they different !! I've been eying ice for years.....gone into places ....spent days looking at all of it...checked out the Quality of the stones...really important...the stones~ All stores....and I mean all stores....Walmart...penny's...sears....dillard's....zales...kay's... kmart....~~~All have a selection of good Quality of diamond area in there stores...High Quality Stones will have a tag on it IGI~~~This is the International Gemological Institute Do not be afraid to ask to see the rings ...OR what ever the jewerly is you want to look at......The lights inside the glass case will show the stones to be ...sometimes...better than they are......Ask a lot of questions......and after you look at some higher end stones...ask to see some a little cheaper.....People are there to help......and most will help you pick out some very nice pieces at prices you can afford Remember .....the name of the store has nothing to do with the Stones you want.....they all come from the same place......It is the name of the stores....that make the prices on Diamonds !! Most store have been running clearence up to 50% off on there High end Diamonds Every year... the lower end stores...like walmart and the such....because they will try to get rid of most of there jewelry in Diamonds.....The longer the sale.....the cheaper it gets......months go by with sales......you ever seen a 2 crt diamond sale for 60.00....Hope you find what you want !!!!
